Sooner or later man considers the big questions of life.
• Why am I on this earth? • What am I to do while I am living? • What happens to me after I die? • How can a sinful man have fellowship with a Holy God?
God has revealed His answers to the above questions. He has done so by inspiring forty men to write Scripture, which is recorded in the Bible. Following the text of the Bible we find that: Our relationship with God began when he created us and gave us life. He intended to live together with us in unbroken relationship and teach us His way of doing things. So God created man in his image, in the image of God He created them ... and God saw all that He made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:27,31 But our wrongdoing, sin, has separated us from God. We have broken the relationship that God intended to have with us. Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin." John 8:34 So Jesus, God Himself, came to earth in human form to bring us mercy and truth. He came to restore our relationship with God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 How did Jesus accomplish this? His death on the cross was the bridge that brought us together again, paying the price for our wrongdoing. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. 1 Peter 3:18 But His death was not the end. Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God. A new life and new hope was brought into the world. The Bible promises that God's original intention for us will be realized one day. God will live with us in a restored creation, a home for both God and his people. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 Then I saw a new heaven and new earth ... I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God." Revelation 21:1,3 Jesus' followers are joined together by God into a new community, bound by their faith in Christ. They have been rescued (saved) from the rule of darkness and brought into the kingdom of God's Son. How can you personally share in this gift of new life in Jesus and join the people of God? "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:25-26 Turn away from your sin and turn back to God. Accept the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, giving up his own life for you. Put your trust in Jesus and believe that he came into this world to restore you to God. Then give your life to serve and follow Jesus, joining with others on the same journey of faith. Here you will find the life that is truly life.
